MEMBERSHIP

NAMI Ohio  encourages everyone to join NAMI through a local affiliate, if  available. Check the affiliate  page on this website and the NAMI Ohio  affiliate bulletin board for contact information, or call Karen Lindberg, Membership Director, at NAMI Ohio 614-224-2700 or toll-free at 1-800-686-2646 for membership information. You can also e-mail her at karenl@amiohio.org. Those  wishing to join directly through NAMI Ohio are welcome to do so.  NAMI Ohio also welcomes "open door" memberships, available to  family members and consumers for whom paying dues would otherwise prevent their joining NAMI. Numbers count in advocacy. JOIN NAMI and support our mission.

Community  Mental Health and Recovery Services  Boards/Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Boards, mental health professionals, corporations, state-level organizations and others are also encouraged to support the mission of NAMI Ohio directly with their memberships/donations.  Individual professional membership dues are $30.00 per year.

Membership in NAMI Ohio also includes membership in NAMI national and all the rights and privileges of both memberships, including newsletters  from both, voting rights, and discounts on national  conferences.

By giving  a tax-deductible gift to NAMI Ohio, you will become a part of the help and healing that NAMI Ohio offers every day. Your support is critical to sustain NAMI Ohio's programs and all gifts are appreciated.

The  American Institute of Philanthropy (AIP), the nation's leading  charity watchdog, awarded NAMI an A+ rating for its cost-effective charitable spending and fundraising practices. NAMI was one of only  10 groups throughout this country that received an A+ rating.

General  Donations are made to support programs andprojects. Any size gift is appreciated.

Memorial Gifts are made in memory of a deceased family member or friend, often in lieu of flowers.

 Wall of Honor gifts of $250 and above are made in honor of family, friends and others you wish to honor and will be  included as a permanent part of NAMI Ohio's Wall of Honor in the  lobby of the NAMI Ohio office in Columbus.

Matching Gifts are made by employers who match their  employees' gifts to NAMI Ohio. Check  with your human resources/benefits office to see if your employer offers this  benefit.

Gifts  and Estate Planning are ways to secure the future for you and  your loved ones; save taxes and support NAMI Ohio.

NAMI Ohio  is Ohio's leading grassroots advocacy organization solely dedicated to improving the lives of persons with severe mental illnesses  including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder (manic depressive illness), major depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, and severe anxiety disorders.

A  tax-exempt certificate for NAMI Ohio is available upon  request.
